What a game this was! After 60 minutes, the Niners came out victorious in the second match at Wembley Stadium this year. The Niners did not have any setbacks as they took care of the Jacksonville Jaguars by a score of 42-10. They were up 28-3 at the half, then they cruised to the win, dominating Jacksonville the whole game. The game was so good that the reserves came in for the second half of the fourth quarter to close out the game.
Frank Gore and Colin Kaepernick took care of business for the team. Gore finished with 19 carries for 71 yards along with 2 touchdowns. Kaep also finished with 2 TD’s along with 7 carries for 54 yards. Kendall Hunter actually ended up as the leading rusher with 9 change of pace carries for 84 yards, including a huge 41 yard carry. He finished a quiet passing game with a 10/16 pass completion and 164 yards. However, he still had a quarterback rating of 99.8, the highest since 2010 due to his rushing. He was also the first QB to post back-to-back QBR of over 99 points.
Vernon Davis also helped the cause with 3 receptions for 52 yards and a touchdown. Anquan Boldin and Bruce Miller had 56 receiving yards each on four and two receptions respectively. Bruce Miller had a pretty fun catch on the opening drive where he jogged down the right sideline completely unnoticed, made a wide-open catch then ran for a huge gain. The ease of the catch basically represented the flawless domination of the Niners.
The defense held Jacksonville to 90 rushing yards, though they did allow 228 passing yards, mainly due to a couple long passes on mistakes. The defense also scored the final points to close out the blowout after All-Pro captain middle linebacker Patrick Willis forced a fumble and outside linebacker Dan Skuta took it 47 yards to the house.
Next week the Niners have a bye but come Week 10, the will be playing the Carolina Panthers at home. The Niners now have a record of 6-2 with 5 straight wins, and they are only one game behind the division leading rival Seattle Seahawks.
