Stanford Beats San Jose State

Stanford opened their season with a 34-13 win over San Jose State. The defense was solid as usual, allowing 35 rushing yards. Stanford shut down the prolific quarterback David Fales very well, holding him to 216 yards on 43 attempts. Tyler Gaffney played well in his return to Stanford from minor league baseball, and rushed for 104 yards on 20 carries and 2 touchdowns. Kevin Hogan managed the offense very well, although the offense was very run heavy. Barry Sanders Jr. made his Stanford debut, but played sparingly, only having one carry for two yards. Seeing the game in person, it felt like Stanford could have done more. The expectations are sky high for the #5 ranked Cardinal.

MVP of the game goes to Tyler Gaffney for his great day rushing. Hopefully Stanford keeps winning this season.
