Now this is what we Niner fans like to see out of our team. Coming into this game the Niners had a record of 1-2. Their opponents out-rushed them in every game and Frank Gore did not show his explosive side at all.
This game was a good turn around for the 49ers. The Rams were able to get on the board early with a Greg Zuerlein 40 yard field goal, but the 49ers bounced back with Kaepernick throwing a 20 yard touchdown pass to Anquan Boldin. Boldin finished the day with 5 receptions for 90 yards and the touchdown. Before the end of the half Gore was able to run in a 34 yard touchdown. Gore finally had his breakout game this year, finishing with 20 carries for 153 yards.
At the start of the second half, Vernon Davis caught a 12 yard touchdown, but finished with only 2 receptions for 18 yards. Vernon Davis’ availability was questionable last night but he managed to fight through his injury and finish with a touchdown. The back-up running backs, Anthony Dixon and Kendall Hunter both added touchdown runs and finished with a respective 14 carries for 55 yards together.
On top of the excellent game so far, the 49ers managed to allow only one touchdown by the Rams, which came off a 6 yard pass from Sam Bradford to Lance Kendricks.
With a final score of 35-11, Kaepernick was able to forget about the past few games and finish with 167 yards with 2 touchdowns.
MVP of the game goes to Gore for his great comeback game. Hopefully the Niners can continue to show their powerful rushing attack, headed by Frank Gore.
Next week the Niners host the Houston Texans. Any predictions?
