A’s With Walk-Off Win Over Mariners

Today’s game was just extraordinary, and very fun to watch. Pitching was amazing as Jarrod Parker pitched his first ever complete game. In addition, his stat line was amazing pitching nine innings of one run ball with eight strikeouts. He did allow eight hits, but his control was amazing as he only allowed one walk, picking up his ninth win of the season.

However, in this 2-1 win, Jarrod Parker’s amazing pitching may have been outshined by Brandon Moss’ walk-off home run in the ninth inning. The A’s took an early lead in the fourth with Josh Donaldson hitting a sacrifice ground out to bring Josh Reddick home. The game was tied in the seventh and remained tied until the ninth. With one out, on a 2-1 count, Brandon Moss smacked his 19th home run to centerfield to give the A’s the walk-off win.

With this win the A’s maintain their spot a half game back from the first place Texas Rangers, but hopefully they can move up and overtake them with some more wins like this. MVP of the game is split between Jarrod Parker and Brandon Moss for both of their incredible performances.
